How to Add Posts to our Blog

For those of you who are new to the whole "blogging" thing, I thought that I would give a brief overview as to how it all works. It is very easy once you get the hang of it.
To be an author, you will have to create a "gmail" email identity. Open the invitation and it will take you to the gmail page. Gmail mail allows you to forward their email to your already existing email address if you chose that option -- cutting down on checking different emails. I just use my gmail indentity to log in.
Once you have logged in you will see a blue bar across the top of the page with a tab that says "New Post". Put the mouse button on that tab and click. It will take you to the posting page. Chose a title for your post and type it in.
Below the title box you will see several "buttons". These buttons are for "bold", "italics", "linking", "Inserting blockquote", "spell check", "add picture" or "add video clip".
Let's say you want to show a picture of your latest project and you have saved it to your computer. Click on the picture button. It will take take you to the "Add Image" screen. Chose the layout first -- do you want the picture centered or to the side? Once you have selected the layout, go to the "add image" bar and browse for the location of the picture on your computer. When you locate it, select it and then select upload. It may take a while to upload depending in the size of the photo. A work of caution when loading big photo files -- they eat megabytes! Please resize your pictures to 2x3 when planning to post them.
Once you have your picture loaded, type your post. To see what it will look like before publishing - hit the preview button in the top right hand corner. When you are happy with it, choose the orange "Publish Post" button at the bottom of the screen and it is published! That is all there is to it.
I hope to see lots of updates very soon.
